The “Großer Arber”, the “king of the Bavarian Forest” is with 1456 m the highest mountain of the Bavarian-Bohemian massif. The Rissloch waterfalls, the glacial lakes, the primeval forest and, most of all, its crest protruding above the limit of vegetation give it its distinctive character. A modern 6 seat cable car will bring visitors comfortably to the top station. From there it is just a short hike to the summit cross!
